Molti di voi, cari lettori aspettavano questo giorno con impazienza, lo so, per conoscere in maniera dettagliata il probabile vostro futuro acquisto. Bene l’attesa è finita e Asus sta ufficializzando il suo nuovo tablet di punta per la prossima stagione, il Prime, destinato a succedere a quel Transformer che ha riscosso un discreto successo. Sebbene non vi sia ancora la pagina web disponibile e l’ufficialità vera e propria, è già disponibile un comunicato stampa da cui si evincono le caratteristiche salienti di questo gioellino: processore Tegra3 (dunque quad-core) affiancato da 1Gb di ram, display da 10,1″ Super Ips+, protetto da un Gorilla Glass, con risoluzione di 1280*800 e trattato per essere oleorepellente, chassis in alluminio con uno spessore di soli 8,3mm, doppia fotocamera (posteriore da 8MPx con diaframma f 2,4 e sensore retroilluminato, capace di registrare video fino a 1080p e anteriore da 1,2), porta USB e micro HMDI e slot SD. Il tutto completato da Gps, Bluetooth, wifi, con dei tagli di memoria di tutto rispetto: 32GB e 64GB con la solita dock opzionale a parte, una batteria definita di lunga durata (di almeno 12 ore secondo le specifiche) ed un buon corredo software: ASUS launcher, @Vibe Music, ASUS WebStorage, MyLibrary, MyNet, MyCloud, file manager, ASUS sync, SuperNote, App Locker, App Backup, TegraZone, Polaris Office. Il lancio inialmente previsto per questo mese, sembra sia slittato a Dicembre per non specificati motivi, anche se il più plausibile (secondo i rumors della rete) sembra essere quello di un probabile lancio con Android 4.0 e non con Honeycomb come detto fino ad ora. Dunque un device di tutto rispetto che sembra pronto non solo ad essere un degno successore, ma anche a superare il Transformer.

I prezzi dovrebbero essre di 499$ per la versione da 32GB e 599$ per quella da 64GB, con la dock vanduta separatamente a 149$! Naturalmente da noi verrà quasi sicuramente applicato il cambio 1:1!
