Dopo Huawei e Samsung anche HTC starebbe pensando di produrre in casa i processori per i suoi prossimi dispositivi. China Times riporta la notizia che la casa di Taiwan sarebbe in procinto di firmare un accordo con ST-Ericsson, famosa produttrice di chip per moduli radio e GPS; i nuovi processori equipaggeranno i dispositivi entry e mid-level della prossima produzione HTC. Sicuramente il risparmio sarebbe notevole visto che eviterebbe ad HTC di continuare a rifornirsi da soggetti terzi come Qualcomm. In ogni caso, i primi frutti dell’accordo non dovrebbero arrivare prima di 16-18 mesi.

HTC could produce itself next entry and mid-level device’s chips

After Huawei and Samsung HTC too would be thinking to produce at home processors for its next devices. China Times is reporting that the house of Taiwan would be ready to sign an agreement with ST-Ericsson, famous chips manufacter for radio and GPS modules; new processors will power entry and mid-level devices of the upcoming HTC production. Certainly savings would be substantial given that HTC would avoid to continue to buy from third parties such as Qualcomm. In any case, the first fruits of the agreement should not arrive before 16-18 months.
